As all mewahan's know, our school "loves" our hair very very much. They recently had a spot check and without warning left almost half the school looking like monks. To me, i feel that the rules on our hair is ridiculous. They are impractical and wastes a whole lot of time.
First, the rules say that the hair at the back cannot be lower than the earlobes. How ridiculous is that? Dont they know that everybody's hairline is different. Some grow longer down to the neck and some dont. They can't expect everyone to look the same. I feel like they are trying to make us look like robots.
But i dont understand why they are giving so much attention to how we look. I feel that our hairstyles wont affect our studies at all. Okay, there should be some guidelines but i think as long as we look neat then it should be fine. But NOOOOOOOOOOO. Our principal says that we are full time students and we should not look fashionable. What is wrong with being a fashionable student??
Then, a discipline teacher said that some parents defend their child. He says they seem to love their child's hair more than their studies. But to me, it looks like the school cares more abt hair than studies. They take a whole day to shave the students' hair and making them miss lessons. Why dont they go see if the teachers are teaching properly? Or whether the students are having any difficulties?
Haiz. I guess I just have to get through it for another year.

it s ok
its a matter of interpretation gone awry
neatness and presentable is the original objective
school being given the authority over these guidelines which actually focus more on disciplined behavior
the external appearance is only a minor aspect which has been blown out of proportion causing unnecessary
ill-feeling against school authorities
well just pray their sincerity to correct and teach the young will be diverted to the right matter
in the mean time dont let it get you so down not against them
they being human may also have unmet needs causing this spectacle bec they are in positions of authority...
maafkan mereka....
I never agreed with the school hair cut rule ever...and often had ways to slip around it....
But short hair is a fashion... and with about 2000 student following it.. I think it is very fashionable. it is not out of fashion it is coming in...
God's blessing with your hair... I had no problem since I enjoy having short hair to keep myself cool...
Hear hear!!
How true..As you get older, you realize all these small petty little things that the school LOVES to make such a big deal out of, and which we, as small innocent do-not-know-any-better form 1 students have dutifully followed to the day of enlightenment.
Yes, I totally agree with what you're saying. It's absolutely ridiculous!
But.
At this moment in time, you HAVE to follow the rules. Unless you plan to raise up and army and mogok together-gether. No?
As of now, we do as we're told, because we are civilised people who can learn to respect and submit to authorities.
In the future, we can do anything we want with our hair. Look like monks. On purpose. XD
But nothing's stopping you from kutuk-ing them though. So whoohoooo!! :P
